Bayer MaterialScience and marktunddesign open up new innovative ways for electronic applications.

New combinations of materials make switch-less switches possible. The innovation named EXTRACT combines mechanical characteristics of chemical substances and electronic parts that in parallel conducts light and electricity. The product stands for a new field of technology which is becoming more and more important in the industry. Specialists call it 'Mechoptronic' which is the combination of mechanic, optic and electronic.

Bayer MaterialScience developed the tweezers EXTRACT in a multidisciplinary co-operation with the innovations agency marktunddesign. marktunddesign was responsible for the product design, construction and production management. On top of that, the marktunddesign team developed all necessary media for the product to enable its maturity for the market including: packaging, information booklets and a spectacular 3D animation.
The result of which not only made the hearts of the technically minded beat increasingly faster, but EXTRACT also addressed people with a view for design.
